John Anthony McMurrer Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Anthony McMurrer of Amherst, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 26, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. McMurrer Sr. and Mary Ethel McMurrer (Sullivan); and his siblings, Jim, Joe, Larry, Pat and Barbara.
He is survived by: his former wife Donna Middendorf (Middendorf); his children, Dan (Lucy), Jenny (Robert Snow) and Erin (PJ Donahue); and his grandchildren, Seamus, Bridget and Patrick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Douglass Funeral Service (87 N Pleasant St, Amherst, MA 01002). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one of Jack's favorite charities: the Medical Missionaries of Mary or Doctors Without Borders.
