She was predeceased by: her parents, John McKenzie and Frances McKenzie; and her siblings, Florine "Feen" Larade, Edward and Carson McKenzie.
She is survived by: her husband Cyril Bates of Andover; her children, Deborah (Ossama Sakr) of Amesbury, Derek Bates (Dianne) of Methuen and David Bates of Miami Beach, FL.; her siblings, Bennett McKenzie of Waterford and Donnie McKenzie of Waterford; her grandchildren, Crystal Thornton of Andover, Sean Bates of Methuen and Krystina Tichy; and her great grandchildren, Michelle Thornton and Emmy Thornton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
