With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas A. Zappala of Andover, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 7, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Thomas departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Thomas may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Thomas leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaetano "Tony" Zappala and Olivia "Lil" Zappala (Lombardo); and his siblings, Marie Lister and John Zappala. He is survived by: his wife Sheila M. Zappala (Gately) of Andover, MA.; and his children, Cara Zappala (Enrique Gutierrez) of Alexandria, VA, Chris Zappala (Shannon) of San Marcos, CA and Catherine Calla (Jonathan) of Lynnfield, MA.. He is also survived by aunt, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
