He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. McCarthy and Mary Ellen McCarthy (Marie Bruno); his brother-in-law James J. Murphy of Billerica; and his siblings, John J. McCarthy of Watertown, Ellen Jane Renna of Billerica and Margaret Murphy of Billerica.
He is survived by: his friend Devereaux; his wife Margaret G. McCarthy (McGrath) of Lincoln, MA; his daughters, Alyssa M. McCarthy of Cambridge and Jennifer A. Kushmerek (Gregory W. Kushmerek) of Jamaica Plain; his grandsons, Alec R. Kushmerek of The Hague, NL and Theo Chester Kushmerek of Jamaica Plain; his sisters, Patricia Brady, Helen Van Nostrand and Kathleen McCarthy of The Villages, FL; and his godchildren, Dawn Fazio of Revere, Frankie Consolo of Dorchester and John Varone (Andrew Elliot) of West Roxbury. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Keefe Funeral Home - Arlington (5 Chestnut St, Arlington, MA 02474). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
