With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marie E. O'Connell of Arlington, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 19, 2024 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marie E. O'Connell to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her siblings, Richard Hanafin (late Noreen) of Burlington, Lorraine Dynan (late Bob) of Arlington and John "Boy" Hanafin (Diane) of Wilmington. She is survived by : her husband Harold W. O'Connell; her children, Karen Greenwood (Tom) of Sudbury, Amy DeMatteo (Jim) of Tewksbury, Jim O'Connell (Nicole) of Lawrence and Bob O'Connell (Jenn) of Sandwich; and her grandchildren, Robert, Andrew, Laura and Siena. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Keefe Funeral Home - Arlington (5 Chestnut St, Arlington, MA 02474). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Saint Eulalia's Church (50 Ridge St, Winchester, MA 01890). A burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery (70 Medford St, Arlington, MA 02474).

In lieu of flowers, please honor Marie by making donations in her memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
