“Dear Siblings. For 6 years, until his death, I was Richard's upstairs neighbor and piano accompanist, for I was forever playing the piano. He never complained. He was a very private person, but occasionally I would see him about the premises and we would talk. I miss him mostly because I was never able to help him in his time of need. And I was never able to say goodbye. It is a most scary time to die alone, without anybody knowing. My condolences. David Stern”
