It is with sadness that the passing of Richard N. Bartus (Athol, Massachusetts) is shared. Richard, born on May 3, 1937, passed away on September 3, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Michaele Bartus; his parents, Peter Bartus and Anna Bartus; his stepmother Elaine Bartus; his sister Patricia Wetherby; his in-laws, Bob and Louise Thayer; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Thayer and Patricia Kellogg.
He is survived by: his daughters, Anne-Marie Bartus (Michael Peterson), Margaret Cooley and Jennifer Bartus (Tony Glazier); his grandsons, Kyle Cooley, Tyler Cooley (Brittney Field) and Joshua Cooley (Kim Pagnoni); his great grandchildren, Colton, Cooper, Walker and Lennon Cooley; his friends, Robert, Monika Perkins and Dickie Cooley; and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Coughlin, Judy Thayer and John Thayer.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Athol Legion (325 Pequoig Ave, Athol, MA 01331).
