Joseph T. Scott Obituary
TAUNTON - Joseph T. Scott, 60, died Saturday, November 27, 2010, after period of failing health. Born in Pawtucket, RI, the son of Gertrude (Hunt) Scott of Attleboro and the late Richard Scott, he was loving husband of Jacalyn (Dean) Leal of Taunton. A 1969 graduate of Attleboro High School, Joe attended the Hall Institute and Bristol Community College.
A USAF veteran, he served from August 1969 to August 1973, being discharged at McChord AFB, Tacoma, WA, with the rank of Sergeant. A tool and die maker his entire work life, Joe worked for the past ten years for Tri-Mack Plastics Manufacturing in Bristol, RI. Joe attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton and formerly attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pawtucket, RI.
He was member of the VFW Post 115 in Attleboro. He was a former youth sports coach for the Attleboro Little League, the South Attleboro White Hawks football team and the Attleboro Youth Basketball Association. His family was his #1 priority. Joe loved photography, woodworking and pencil sketching. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, nature, the ocean, beaches, sailboats and light houses, tennis and watching television.
In addition to his mother and his wife, Joe is survived by a stepson, Brent S. Leal of Taunton. He was the father of Keith T. Scott & Lisa Fasolino and Korey B. Scott; the grandfather of Ashley and Michael Fasolino; and the brother of Robert A. Scott & Mary Jo Scott and also the late Thomas R. Scott. He was the grandson of the late William and Mary Mitchell and Albert and Mary Hunt.
Funeral Information Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 111 High Street, Taunton, Friday, December 3, 2010, at 10:00 AM, followed by light refreshments in the parish hall. Interment will be held at the convenience of family at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
