Lawrence Habershaw Obituary
Lawrence "Larry" Habershaw, 90, a lifelong resident of Attleboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at The Branches of North Attleboro. He was the devoted and loving husband of the late Eleanor G. "Ellie" (Bates) Habershaw, who passed away on April 7, 2023, after spending 67 years married and 71 years together as partners in life, love, family, and work.
Born on November 24, 1934, in Attleboro, Larry was one of ten children born to the late William A. and Sarah V. (Bradley) Habershaw. He was raised and grew up in Attleboro, where he was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1954.
At the young age of 11, Larry borrowed some money and bought three paper routes. These early days of hard work established his strong work ethic as he grew older.
A proud, vibrant patriotic man, Larry enlisted in the United States Army. He served during the early years of the Vietnam War, spending time stationed in Germany. He served from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957, achieving the rank of E5.
After his time in the service, Larry attended Northeastern University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Engineering.
In his early years he worked at Texas Instruments in Attleboro and later, along with Ellie, became the owner and operator of Paratronix in Attleboro. Larry, along with Ellie, grew Paratronix into a very successful company until it was sold in 2016.
In his spare time, Larry worked endless hours on the 54 apartment buildings he and Ellie owned. He and Ellie had a lifelong passion to travel. They traveled around the world, including 104 cruises along their journey. Larry was also known for his collection of hats, establishing well of 200 in his collection. Above all, he cherished the time spent and memories made with his dear family and many close friends.
Larry is survived by his two children: Karen Kraemer and her husband Mike of Medfield and Kevin Habershaw of Attleboro. He also leaves behind his cherished niece and caregiver: Lori Legere of Attleboro; his two grandsons Jake and Kyle Kraemer of Medfield; and his siblings: Joan Mooney of Attleboro and Frank Habershaw of Las Vegas. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Larry is preceded in passing by his siblings: Robert Habrshaw, William Habershaw, Edward Habershaw, Frederick Habershaw, Veronica Cassidy, Rita Hutchinson, and baby Sarah Habershaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
At his request, services for Larry will take place privately.
