He was predeceased by: his parents, Milford P. Hoffmann and Catherine A. Hoffmann (Bunyan); and his siblings, Christine Hale, Karen Guisti and John Hoffmann.

He is survived by: his wife Celeste A. Hoffmann (Beaudet); his children, Kaitlin C. Coughlin (Joe) of North Attleboro and Jonathan R. Hoffmann (Zuzana) of Prague; and his grandchildren, Markus and Sofia Hoffmann. He is also survived by family and loving cat.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048.
