It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Littlejohn Rueter of Barnstable, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Colonel Basil "Duke" D. Edwards and Elizabeth Chadwick Edwards (Beale) of Barnstable; her husband William G. Rueter, Jr. (Bill); her son William G. Rueter, III; her siblings, Basil D. Edwards, Elizabeth C. Weaver, Joseph H. B. Edwards, James K. Edwards and Thomas D. Edwards; and her son-in-law Thomas E. Martin.
She is survived by: her children, Matthew C. of Barnstable, Mass, Margaret B. of Cambridge, Mass, Susan F. Gordon Quintana of Albuquerque, Katherine B. Blatchford of Gloucester, Mass and John L. of Winchester, Mass.; and her children-in-law, Beatrice Rueter (Tricia), Edward Quintana and Virginia Rueter (Ginny). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
