Richard, born on September 15, 1953 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald DeCoste and Sandra J. DeCoste (Sullivan); and his sibling Francis DeCoste. He is survived by: his siblings, Helen DeCoste of Plymouth, Gerald DeCoste of Iowa, Dean DeCoste of Quincy and John DeCoste (Maureen) of Whitman; and his cousins, Paula, Helen and Michael Mecagni. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home North Weymouth (40 Sea St, Quincy, MA 02169). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 9:30 AM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - North Starts (40 Sea St, Quincy, MA 02169). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Jerome Church (632 Bridge St, North Weymouth, MA 02191). The military honors will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:45 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
