He is survived by: his children, Samuel Thorne Jr. and Guyton Thorne (Pamela); his stepchildren, Alva See (Alison) and Richard See; and his grandchildren, Samuel Thorne III, Trischa Thorne (Ryan Davis), Phoebe Guerin (Alex), Heron Thorne, Alva See IV and Nicholas See.
