James J. Szmyt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James J. Szmyt of Belchertown, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jospeh Szmyt and Loretta Szmyt (Krzesik). He is survived by: his children, Jonathan and Julia of Wilbraham; the mother of his children Anne-Marie Matosky Szmyt; his siblings, Pamela Szmyt-Hastings (Scott) and Ken Szmyt; and his nieces and nephews, Dalton, Stephanie, Katy, Ryder and Karoline.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home (64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA 01056). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In honor of Jim's faithful companions, Lucky and Buttons, donations in his memory may be made to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St, Springfield, MA 01105.
