He was predeceased by: the mother of his child Mary F. Cotter; and his brothers, James and Daniel. He is survived by: his wife Doris Bourgeois-Darling; his sons, John L. Darling (Laura) of Nashua, NH and David William Darling (Tina Richards) of East Bridgewater, MA.; his siblings-in-law, William Cotter and Helen Darling; and his stepchildren, Marcel Bourgeois (Marian), Janice Flinton (Jim), John Bourgeois, Jamie Bourgeois (Tracy), Mark Bourgeois (Kristine) and Lori-Ann Zajac (Matt). He is also survived by cousins, nephews, nieces and 3 great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home & Cremation Service (33 Cottage St, Franklin, MA 02038). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home (33 Cottage St, Franklin, MA 02038). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Brendan Parish (384 Hartford Ave, Bellingham, MA 02019). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Cemetery (175 Beaver St, Franklin, MA 02038).
