He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh and Rose Rodden (McElearney); his siblings, Kenneth, Paul and Margaret; his brothers-in-law, Paul and Charles Carroll; and his granddaughter Jamie Reynolds.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Carroll; his children, Kathleen Alexander (William) of Fairfield, CT, Carol Reynolds (Douglas) of Beverly and James Rodden (Kristine) of Georgetown; his sister Betty Smart; his sister-in-law Barbara Carroll of Danvers; and his grandchildren, Melissa, Samantha, Jessica Alexander, Nicole Crawshaw (Kyle), Michael Reynolds (Kaley), Patrick Rodden (Willa O'Callaghan-Shaw) and Alyssa Rodden. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
