He was predeceased by : his wives, Jacqueline Bessette (Chenier) and Laurette Bessette (Lariviere); his parents, Josephat Bessette and Marieanne Bessette (Leroux); and his siblings, Henry Bessette, Rolande Smith and Pauline Rabideau.

He is survived by : his children, Maurice Bessette (Harriet) of Atlanta, GA, Suzanne Guilbert (Donald) of Palm Bay, FL and Christine Laverdiere (David) of Woonsocket; and his brother Maurice Bessette of Rumford. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul Street, Blackstone, MA 01504.
