It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernarda Smith (Boston, Massachusetts), who passed away on May 2, 2018, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Rosemary Smith; and his siblings, Baron Smith (Scoey) and Vonetta Smith. He is survived by: his children, Renarda Shavon Smith-Huggins, Drew Everett, Vernarda Cory Smith and James "Nicky" Smith; his father Robert Lee Smith; his significant other Athena Tasiopoulos; his sisters, Laverne Johnson (Earl), Veneice Smith-McCain (Nelson), Robin Smith-McGregor (Clarence), Rosemary Smith, Shirelle Gomes and Tiarra Smith (California); and his grandchildren, Keyshawn, Deontae and Aria. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and friends.
