He is survived by: his spouse Elizabeth Janet DeVasher (Pickard); his children, Claire Herman (Daniel) of Norwell and Emily DeRosier (Timothy) of Newton; and his grandchildren, Henry, Dylan, Annabelle, Teddy and Phoebe.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New England Herpetological Society.
