He was predeceased by: his parents, Honore Berard and Viola Berard (Provost); his siblings, Donald Berard, Dolores Donahue and Irene Leonard; and his granddaughter Allison Riopel.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline R. Berard (Harper); his children, Diane Riopel (John) of West Boylston, Raymond Berard (Carol) of Worcester, Steven Berard (Suzanne) of Boylston and Dave Berard of Holden; his sisters, Janet Leuci, Viola Zenaro of Paxton and Gloria Kittredge; his grandchildren, Michael Berard, Christina Santiago, Jeffrey Riopel, Justin Riopel, Jessica Newell and Tyler Berard; and his great grandchildren, Harper, Aubree, Cole, Lucas and Leonardo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center (100 Worcester Rd, Sterling, MA 01564). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Hills Church (630 Cross St, Boylston, MA 01505). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Pine Grove Cemetery - Boylston (385 Main St, Boylston, MA 01505).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Cancer Research or to a charity of your choice.
