Though Barry may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Barry touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William McGonigle and Rita McGonigle (Fay); his wife Janet McGonigle (Peckham); his daughters, Jennifer A. Marnik (Daniel) of Holbrook and Julie A. McGonigle of Walpole; his brothers, Robert McGonigle and David McGonigle (Ann); and his grandchildren, Abby L. Marnik and Evan D. Marnik. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home (845 Washington St, Braintree, MA 02184). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Clare Church (1244 Liberty St, Braintree, MA 02184).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Study, c/o Dr. Gary Hunninghake, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, 75 Francis St., Boston, MA 02115.
