Frances R. Boyd Obituary

BOYD, Frances R. "Fran" 'Dolly' (Piso), of Braintree, formerly of the North End, passed away on January 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 85. Fran grew up in the North End where she continued to visit every year to celebrate one of her favorite festivals, the St. Anthony Feast. For the past 56 years, Fran lived in Braintree, where everyone knew her and always jokingly said she should run for Mayor.

Everyone who came in contact with her knew her by her first name and adored and cherished her. She worked for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper and then went on to real estate. Fran's best job was being a stay-at-home mom.

One of the things she loved the most was the time she spent with her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed yoga, Tai Chi and line dancing. Fran was a woman of strong faith and was very active in church life.

She will be remembered for her youthful and vibrant spirit, always loving unconditionally and being kind, and always willing to do anything. Fran will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Beloved wife of the late Francis P. Boyd, Sr.

Beloved mother of Robert M. Boyd of Braintree and his children, Joseph J. Boyd and his wife Jill their children and grandchildren of Braintree, Stephen D. Boyd and his wife Judy of Braintree, their children and grandchildren of Marshfield and Halifax and the late Francis P. Boyd, Jr. and his wife Pam of TX. Devoted sister of Louis Piso of Laguna Woods, CA, Amelia Riddick of Danielson, CT, Antonina Jones of Hyde Park, Peter Piso of Revere, Domenic Piso of Deerfield Beach, FL, Joseph Battersby of Peabody, Roberta Battersby Harrington of Punta Gorda, FL and Cora Battersby of North End, Boston. Fran is also survived by her sister-in- laws Mary O'Brien of Holbrook, MA and Josephine Boyd of New Hyde Park, NY and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Saverio Piso, Sr. and Antonina (Cognata) Piso-Battersby and her brother Saverio Piso, Jr. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Saturday, February 5th, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree.

Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Randolph.
