He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jo Ann Gaine (Hernon); his parents, Brigid Gaine (Pat) and James Gaine of Holbrook; his children, Derek Gaine (Erin Gaine) of Hanover, Bryan Gaine (Andrea Gaine) of Braintree and Trisha Gaine (Kyle Hall) of Rockland; his grandchildren, Mckalah, Dylan, Rylee, Keegan, Evelyn and Olivia; and his brothers, Tim Gaine of Holbrook, Jim Gaine of Pembroke and Michael Gaine of Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of John Gaine may be made to the Mass General Center for Lymphoma in honor of Dr. Jeffrey Barnes.
