He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Clougherty and Anna M. Clougherty (Hennessey); and his siblings, John E. Clougherty, Jr., Robert Clougherty, Patricia Roney, Paul Clougherty, Evelyn Hanf, Bernard Clougherty, Charles Clougherty, Jane Green, Peter Clougherty and Cecelia Clougherty.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Ellen Clougherty (Horrigan); his children, Joseph Clougherty (Tina Girndt-Clougherty) of Urbana, IL, Kevin Clougherty of Old Lyme, CT, Thomas Clougherty of Scituate, MA and Jane Ellen Clougherty of Philadelphia, PA; his grandchildren, Catalin, Coleman and Andrew; and his siblings, Mary McNelley of Woburn, Leo Clougherty of Roslindale and Jean Harrington of Peabody. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home (845 Washington St, Braintree, MA 02184). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Clare Church (1244 Liberty St, Braintree, MA 02184).
