She was predeceased by: her husband Robert F. Van Tassell; and her sister Helen McDevitt. She is survived by: her children, Robert F. Van Tassell, Jr. (Sandra) of Braintree and Mary T. Murray (Joseph) of Marshfield; her siblings, Barbara Quinn of Braintree, Patricia Conner of Braintree, Laurence Keegan and Betty Nourse; her sister-in-law Winifred "Sonia" Keegan of Cape Cod; and her grandchildren, Samantha, Joseph, Matthew, Michael and Shannon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
