He was predeceased by: his daughter Margaret; his sister Patricia "Patsy" Sullivan; and his grandchild Lauren Medeiros. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Mahoney (Mahon); his daughters, Ann of Brighton, Mary Medeiros (Larry) of Salisbury, Catherine Mendalka (John) of Revere, Eileen of Brighton and Theresa of Somerville; his siblings-in-law, Pat, Norah Mahon of Dedham and Sarah Mahon of Galway, Ireland.; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Rainville (Greg), Suzanne Medeiros, Thomas Mahoney and Kaitlin Mendalka. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market Street, Brighton, MA 02135.
