She was predeceased by: her spouse Emmet L. Smith; her parents, Celestino Petti and Santina Petti (Ferrara); her daughter Laurie A. Smith; and her siblings, Michael Petti, James Petti, Rose Andrews, Amy Hustler and Charles Petti.

She is survived by: her son Lawrence E. Smith; her grandchildren, Craig Smith (Shannon), Allison Smith (Zachary Felchner), Stephanie Edwards (Sean) and Julianne Smith (Patrick Falahee); her great grandchildren, Aine, Ailish Edwards, Sabina and Silas Falahee; her children-in-law, Stephen Smith and Karen Christopher; and her sister-in-law Marilyn "Snookie" Petti. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
