He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans M. and Ingrid Christensen Sr. (Nӧrlov); his sister Marguerite Nihill; and his niece Jeanne Potz (Stewart). He is survived by: his wife Jennie C. Christensen (Freberg); his children, Dana C. Christensen (Karen) of Attleboro, MA, Linda J. Lovett (Tom) of Brockton, Beth E. Christensen of Brockton and Jan M. Ingraham (Gary) of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Alexander Carl Christensen, Jack Arlen, Colin Reid Ingraham and Maeghan Ann Christensen; his nephew Paul Stewart (Ruth); and his nieces, Nancy Tatum and Karen Varshock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a memorial in his name to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton, MA, or Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA, to support the church music program; the Viking Club in Holbrook, MA, to continue to celebrate the Scandinavian heritage in America; or Calumet Lutheran Ministries Camp in Freedom, New Hampshire.
