He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Smith and Claire Smith (Fritz); and his son Timothy M. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Rosanne Smith (Jones); his daughter Maureen A. Smith of Lawndale, CA; and his siblings, Richard Smith (late Pat Casey Smith) of Rockland and Gail Thibeau (late Douglas) of Rockland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
