He was predeceased by : his parents, Desmond C. Mahoney and Joan M. Mahoney (Brooks). He is survived by : his wife Carolyn M. Mahoney (Nickerson) of Brockton; his sons, Patrick D. Mahoney and John R. "Jack" Mahoney; his siblings, Susan Leydon (Jimmie) and Kevin Mahoney; his parents-in-law, Robert and Joan Nickerson; his sisters-in-law, Doreen Nickerson and Christine Leonard (Erick); and his nieces and nephews, Amanda Leonard, Jimmie Leydon, Sarah Leonard, Joey Leydon, Christopher Leonard, Stevie Leydon, Tommy Leydon and Bobby Leydon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's name would be appreciated to the Brockton Firefighter's Relief Association, P.O. Box 3341, Brockton, MA 02304-3341.
