He is survived by: his wife Maria Martinez; his children, Rafael Lima, Carlos Lima and Vera Alves; and his grandchildren, Patrick Monteiro, Stephanie Gomes, Stephanie Lima, Claudette Nascimento and Rui Lima. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
