She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Thornton and Lucy Thornton (Basteri); her son Andrew Cortese; and her siblings, Marty Thornton, Kay and Joe Mignault.
She is survived by: her husband Donald Cortese; her daughter Cynthia Parker (Michael) of Herndon, VA; her sisters, Jean Melanson (Mel) of Methuen, Joan Drushella (Kent) of Harwich and Pat Underwood (Tom) of Harwich; and her sister-in-law Judy Thornton of Worcester. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Diane's honor may be made to the Boston Sportsmen's Tennis and Enrichment Center, 950 Blue Hill Ave., Dorchester, MA 02124.
