Elizabeth Duffy Obituary
Duffy, Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Costello) of Acton, formerly of Watertown, Concord and St. Pete’s Beach, Florida passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Oct. 1, 2017. Betty was the born in Cambridge on December 29, 1931 to the late Bridie (Wall) and James Costello. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence for 54 years.
Devoted mother of Sheila Hanrahan & her husband Ralph of Boxborough, Patricia Duffy of Burlington, Michael Duffy & his wife Erin of Melrose, and Jacquelyn Duffy of Maynard. Loving grandmother of Kathryn and Thomas Hanrahan. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary Gillan, Agnes Costello, John Costello, Charlotte Moniz, James Costello, Margaret Gangestad and Theresa Pergamo.
Dear sister-in-law of Barbara Duffy, Regina Duffy and the late John and Mary Christine Duffy of Watertown Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Betty was an employee of General Electric and EG&G. Betty’s family wishes to extend their deepest thanks the staff at Robbins Brook in Acton who took such compassionate care of her these last four years.
Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Thursday Oct. 5, at 8:00 AM, followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM.
