He is survived by: his wife Delaries Gilkes; his children, Dennis Gilkes (Gloria), Colin Barker (Donna), Lindon Gilkes, Yvette Gilkes, Pearl Ann Gilkes, Melville Gilkes (Vanessa), Godfrey Gilkes (Natasha) and Yonette Gilkes (Desmond Cummings); his grandchildren, Samantha, Quincy, Rhonda, Richard, Dale, Sherry, Diana, Olivia, Cordel, Diane, Curt, Devonna, Tremain, Godfrey, Keneisha, Michael, Leroy, Keisha, Kimmone, Tambila, Nicola, Kerry Ann, Kelon, Keron, Kesson, Kandacy, Anson, Andrey, Alex, Andy, Adrian, Arielle, Princess, Prince, Brandy and Angel; his siblings, Lorna Lackish, Jean Primo and Lila Gilkes; his sisters-in-law, Mary Paton and Maude Barker; and his close friends, John Macanara, Lynette Newton and Karen Davis. He is also survived by 53 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Abundant Life Church (47 Howard St, Cambridge, MA 02139). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
