We are sad to announce that on October 11, 2025, Charles Ayer of Canton, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mary (Joyce). He is survived by: his daughter Susan Grafton (Glen) of Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Jack, Matthew and Abby Grafton; his son Robert Ayer (Darcie) of Canton; his pets, Smith and Wesson; his sister-in-law Geraldine Hurley (Mike); and his sibling's children, Christine Clinton-Sinai (Nick), Stephen Clinton and John McDonald (Christine).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home (455 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Oscar Romero Church (700 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that donations may be made to the American Legion Post 24, 950 Washington Street, Canton, MA in memory of our beloved Charlie who found great camaraderie and purpose there.
