He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Carter and Sally Carter; and his in-law William Cohen of Canton. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Carter (Cohen) of Canton; his sons, Gene Carter (Jennifer) of Stoughton and Richard Carter (Jill) of Canton; his grandchildren, Lauren Carter of South Carolina, Allison Carter of Norton, Harrison and Thomas Carter of Canton; his cousins, Gregory Mazmanian (Irene) of Falmouth and Christine Corff (George) of Sterling; and his in-laws, Ann, Bob Adams of Norwood, Kathryn, Jon Springer of Florida, Michelle Cohen of Canton and Jan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home (455 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
