David Isaac Caplan Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 3, 2025, at the age of 95, David Isaac Caplan of Canton, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Caplan and Isabelle M. Caplan (Matthews); his wife Elinor R. Caplan (Blumenthal); and his brother-in-law David Blumenthal. He is survived by: his children, James H. Caplan (Heather) of Marblehead, MA, Deborah J. Machlin (Robert) of Los Altos, CA, Susan T. Ryan (John) of Naples, FL and Judith C. Crowley (Thomas) of Longboat Key, FL.; his grandchildren, Claire Caplan, Matthew Caplan, Jennifer Machlin, Stephanie Foust (Benjamin), Michael Machlin, Sydney Ryan, Samuel Ryan, Rachel Barrett (Michael), Katherine Crowley and Nicole Crowley; and his siblings-in-law, Victor Blumenthal (Lee), Ann Parker and Dorothy Wiedis.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Temple Israel (145 Hartford St, Natick, MA 01760). A burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at the Framingham-Natick Jewish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Orchard Cove Scholarship Fund, 1 Del Pond Drive, Canton, MA 02021.
