He was predeceased by: his parents, João Tavares and Virginia Tavares; and his wife Ana Tavares. He is survived by: his daughters, Yvonne (Yan Poh Loh) of Singapore and Liz Tavares (Deedee Antonelli) of Newton; his granddaughters, Elaine, Melissa and Isabella; and his great grandchild Jaya.
