He is survived by: his wife Denise; his brother Tony; his sister-in-law Sally of Cape Town; his children, Kevin Smily (Dirce), Terry Smily and Julie Kopp Smily; his grandchildren, Aimee McDonough (William McDonough), Sylvia Smily, Matthew Smily, Daniel Smily and Samuel Smily; and his great grandchildren, Angelina Ludwig and Seamus McDonough.
