He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Downey and Jacqueline Downey of Canton. He is survived by: his children, Megan and John Jr. "JJ"; his brothers, Charles, Jr. of Hyannisport, MA and Christopher of Houston, Texas.; and his former wife Caren Kulevich Downey of Marblehead, MA. He is also survived by his many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pushard Family Funeral Home (210 Sherman St, Canton, MA 02021). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Oscar Romero Catholic Church (600 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021).
