He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Childs and Mary Childs (Clemmey) of Centerville, MA.; his wife Bette Ann Childs (Hutchinson) of Milford, NH; and his brothers, Warren, Ralph, Jim, Joe and Richard.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Childs Wilson (Michael) of Exeter, NH and Jay Childs (Arlene) of Exeter, NH; his grandchildren, Katharine Wilson (Garrett Showers) of Richmond, VA, Allison Wilson (Justin Beers) of New York City, NY and Sarah Childs of Philadelphia, PA; his great grandchild Thompson Francis Showers of Richmond, VA.; and his sister-in-law Georgie Childs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Seacoast Art Association Scholarship Fund or The Beyond the Rainbow Fund at Exeter Hospital.
