It is with sadness that the passing of Joan D. Carlisle (Chatham, Massachusetts) is shared. Joan, born on August 3, 1927, passed away on January 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Joan will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Joan by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Joan is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Joan’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carolyn Denney and L. John Denney of Trenton. She is survived by: her children, Gordon Carlisle (Susan Poulin) of Eliot, Maine, Scott Carlisle (Malcolm) of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Malcolm and Jill Carlisle of Orleans; her grandchild Byron (Heather); her sister Lindsey Carlisle of West Hartford; and her nieces and nephews, Emeline, Phoebe and Stuart. She is also survived by her four boys, their wives.
