She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold G. Michitson and Anna M. Michitson (Ciccarelli); her significant other James W. Biddy; her siblings, Jeanne P. Riding and Harold "Butch" Michitson; her pets, Patches, Checkers and Casey; and also, Angel and Halo.

She is survived by: her son Gary Biddy (Stacey Vando); her pet Shadow of Raymond, NH; and her brother Jonathan "Jay" Michitson of Somerville, MA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.

For her monumental contributions to the Chapter, Irene was the recipient of numerous prestigious, high-level International awards, including the Meritorious Service Award (1990) the Medal of Merit (2013) and the prized James M. Rockwell AFCEAN of the Year Award (1994)—at the time, the second highest individual award given by AFCEA International.
