Jean Holmes Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on December 31, 2025, at the age of 96, Jean Holmes of Chelmsford, Massachusetts passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean Holmes to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband William E. Holmes of Cambridge; her parents, Stanley D. Henderson and Elsie H. Henderson (Stockbridge); her daughter Carol Bartashy; and her siblings, Stanley Henderson and Marjorie Crowell (Henderson).
She is survived by: her children, John (Deborah) and Judith; her son-in-law Philippe Durant of Lowell; her daughter Betty; her son-in-law Kelly Gustin of Keene, NH; and her grandchildren, Kelly Holmes of Savanah, GA, John Holmes Jr. of Hingham, Greg Ouellette of New Orleans, Keith Ouellette of Lowell and Gina Ouellette of Keene. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Jean was always active in the community: she was one of the original volunteers for the Tewksbury Food Pantry; she was active in Community Teamwork Inc. Senior Corps RSVP program for eight years; she then became an ESL tutor to mothers of pre-school children at the Lowell Public School Family Literacy Center saying, "I admire the women that I help.
