He is also survived by extended family and lifelong friends.

In honor of Matt's life and journey, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support cancer research and patient families through the VHL Alliance at (vhl.org). Donations can also be made to Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA.
