Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joseph Rodney MacDonald of Chelsea, Massachusetts, who passed away at the age of 81, on October 11, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Leo and Evelyn MacDonald (Foster); his daughter Carrie Ann MacDonald; his grandchild Cary; and his brother Donald Sawyer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jacquelyn Watts (Michael) of Foothill Ranch, California and Suellen Durkin of Norwell; his grandchildren, Zachary, Micaela, Liam, Thomas, Jake, Daniel, Brendan, Caleigh, Bailey, Caitlin and Sean; his sister Carole Draheim of Hanover; and his son-in-law Thomas Durkin of Hull. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - South (809 Main St, Weymouth, MA 02190). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Church (234 Pleasant St, Weymouth, MA 02190). A burial will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at the Blue Hill Cemetery (700 West St, Braintree, MA 02184).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Joseph's name to the charitable organization of one's choice.
