He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew P. Murphy and Anna T. Murphy (Callahan); and his siblings, Andrew J., Edward, Brendan Murphy, Eileen Mullaney, Patricia Doherty, Kathleen Paris, Barbara Parow and Sheila Zecha.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia M. Murphy (Dennehy); his sons, Kevin G. Murphy, Jr. (Joanne) of Malden, Daniel F. Murphy (Nicole) of Saugus and Paul R. Murphy (Erin) of Chelsea; and his grandchildren, Brendan, Daniel Jr., Ava, Kylah, Mason and Brielle Murphy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Welsh Funeral Home (718 Broadway, Chelsea, MA 02150). A procession will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Grace Church (194 Nichols St, Everett, MA 02149).
As we celebrate his life, we honor the extraordinary man Kevin was—his unwavering spirit, deep devotion to family, and contributions to the community will forever be remembered and cherished.
