It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Richter of Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Legate and Beulah Legate (Benoit); her husband John Richter; and her sister Marjorie Whalen (Tommy). She is survived by: her children, Todd Richter of Chicopee, MA and Lisa Richter of Union Township, NJ; her grandchildren, Conor, Taran, Tristan and Carolynne; her niece Karen Whalen (Randy Volkert); her great-nephew Joey; and her nephew Mark Whalen (Terry).
A memorial service was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (33 Lamb St, South Hadley, MA 01075). A burial was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Notre Dame Cemetery (63 Lyman St, South Hadley, MA 01075).
