We announce the death of Helen M. Skotnicki (Chicopee, Massachusetts), who passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 88. Helen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Helen will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Helen’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Swiader and Anna Swiader (Racia); her husband Kazimierz Skotnicki; her brother Joseph Swiader; her stepmother Stella Swiader; and her brother-in-law Eddie Toczek.
She is survived by: her daughter Yolanda St. Jean (Lee); and her sisters, Jane Libera (Zbigniew) and Wanda Toczek. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the Kozikowski Funeral Home (565 Front St, Chicopee, MA 01013). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Stanislaus Basilica (566 Front St, Chicopee, MA 01013).
