It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helene C. (Kane) Sears of Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard J. Kane and Helen V. Kane; her husband Michael J. Sears; and her siblings, Elizabeth Gross, Bernard, Joseph and John Kane.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Sears (Ben Redcross) of Oakland, CA, Christine Kiely of Greer, SC, Kenneth Sears (Chris) of Valparaiso, IN and Elizabeth Liptrap (Timothy) of Coventry, CT; her grandchildren, Ryan Sears (Makenzie), Shannon Sears (Kevin Jugovic), Kathryn Sears, Emily Sears, Benjamin Liptrap and Aiden Liptrap; her siblings, Patricia Gallagher of New York, Theresa Gershberg of New York, Mary Keenan (Edward) of New Jersey and Lawrence Kane (Patricia) of New York; and her sisters-in-law, Marian Kane of Florida, Mary Sears of Ireland, Bridie Sears of Ireland and Margaret Moriarty of Ireland. She is also survived by her many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the John Boyle O'Reilly Club, 33 Progress Avenue, Springfield, MA 01104.
